Prerequisites:

• Ensure that you have already created a query on a template: Creating a New Query
• Ensure that you have permission to edit a query.

Overview:

In this section, we'll walk you through the process of editing a query in MergeUp. Once you have created a query, you may need to make adjustments to its details. We'll explain how to locate and edit a query within your template.

Steps:

1. Access the target template's "Template Data" tab, find the "Queries" card at the top, and click on the query's name to proceed with editing.

2. After clicking on the query's name, a new pane titled "Selected Query" will appear below the "Queries" table. This is where you can perform edits on your query.
   

3. The fields displayed in the "Selected Query" pane will depend on the query type:

   • Record Query: If the selected query is a record query, you will see the Name, Type, and Object fields. The Type and Object fields are read-only and cannot be edited.

   • General Query: If the selected query is a general query, the Where Clause field will also be visible for editing.

   • Child Query: If it is a child query, the Relationship Field and Parent Field will appear for editing.

4. Make the necessary modifications to these fields as required. Each editable field will be populated with the current values of the selected query. Note that the Type and Object fields are read-only and cannot be changed.

5. Once you have made the desired edits to the query details, the changes will be automatically saved once you move the blinking cursor away from the field being modified.
