Prerequisites:

• Ensure that you have templates within a template group and have added a query to that template group. Additionally, make sure that you have fields to delete: Adding Fields to Query

• Make sure that you have permission to delete query fields.

Overview:

Removing a field from a query is a crucial practice to optimize your MergeUp experience. It's essential to include only the fields that are absolutely necessary to avoid unnecessary slowing of the merge process. This guide will walk you through the different ways to remove fields from a query.

Steps:

1. Begin by choosing a template to work with and selecting the specific query from which you want to remove a field and navigate to the "Fields" component.

2. Delete either an individual field or bulk fields

   • Individual Field Deletion

     1. Identify the field you want to remove and locate the trash icon on the far right of that field. Clicking this icon will trigger a confirmation window.

        

   • Bulk Field Deletion

     1. Check the checkboxes on the left of the fields you want to delete in the "Fields" component.

     2. After selecting the fields, click the button located in the top right of the "Fields" component, labeled "Delete Selected Fields."

        

3. A confirmation pop-up will appear, displaying a list of templates where the field could be used, and clicking "Confirm" will remove the selected fields from the query and all its related templates.

   

Notes:

• Removing a field from a query will remove it from every template inside of that template group. Keep this in mind as you manage your fields.
