Prerequisites

• The user needs the MergeUp admin permission set.
• Steps found in Identifying Objects and Summarizing Document have been completed.

Overview

In the template preview, you will get your first glance of what MergeUp has made for you. Here we preview the initial fields, highlighted in yellow, and the layout formatted by MergeUp AI. To get your template dialed in, fields should be scrutinized and then adjusted accordingly. Adjusting the incorrect fields you found in the template preview, allows you to tweak the generated template until it is just right.

Steps

1. Looking at the template preview below, you should carefully consider the objects and fields selected. Highlighted in yellow, these data points will make up the queries found in your finished template. If you see something you don't like, scroll to the bottom of the page and select Make Changes.

   • What you see in yellow is NOT MergeUp syntax but, a representation of the object and field selected for each data point.

     

2. On this page you can do the following things

   • If the AI incorrectly identified a datapoint, click the trashcan icon.
   • To edit fields, select one or many checkboxes, scroll to the bottom and hit Next.
   • Note: If a data point should have been recognized but wasn't, it can be added after this process is finished.

   

3. Adjust the selected field by changing its values, do this similarly to how you would in a flow formula.

   Invoice.BillToContact.Name ---> Invoice.BillToContact.AssistantName

   

4. After adjusting fields, we see a new preview of the document. This cycle can continue as many times as you would like but, once satisfied select Next at the bottom of the template preview.

Conclusion

The preview of your document allows for you as a user to step back and consider the accuracy and layout of generated fields. With the ability to edit data points the user takes back some control from the MergeUp AI and is able to personally dial in their template. It is important to understand that while AI provides a strong starting point for users to work from, the user does need to be thorough in their assessment of the selected objects and fields.
