Overview

Creating a new template in MergeUp involves a few straightforward steps. You'll define various parameters that govern the template's behavior and appearance, tailoring it to your specific needs. The essential fields you'll work with include the template name, file type, default file name, dynamic file name, date locale, number locale, timezone override, currency override, and additional parameters.

Steps

Access the MergeUp Manager App by clicking the waffle icon in the top left corner of your Salesforce instance and choosing MergeUp Manager from the dropdown menu.
Navigate to MergeUp Templates by selecting the MergeUp Templates tab within the MergeUp Manager app's top tabs.
Initiate template creation from the "MergeUp Templates" page's standard list view by clicking the New button at the top right corner.
Select the method by which you would like to create your MergeUp Template. This article will address standard template creation, but to learn more about making an AI-assisted template, check out Identifying Objects and Summarizing Document.
Having selected standard, now populate template information and format preferences by filling out fields within a modal window, similar to creating a standard Salesforce object.
- Complete the following fields:
  - Template Name: Provide a unique name to identify the template in the future.
  - Template File Type: Specify the desired file format for the template.
  - Merged File Type: Specify the desired file format for generated documents.
  - Default File Name: Optionally, set a default name for generated documents.
  - Dynamic File Name: For more advanced functionality, use merge fields to dynamically generate file names based on record data. (See more here: Using Dynamic File Names )
  - Date Locale Override: Define a custom locale for date formatting, if needed.
  - Number Locale Override: Set a locale for number formatting, if required.
  - Timezone Override: Define a specific timezone if different from the organization default.
  - Currency Override: Define a currency format if different from the organization default.
  - Additional Parameters: Specify any additional parameters if needed. See Using Additional Parameters
Continue working on your template by hitting the finish button after entering required information and formatting preferences.
After selecting finish, you will be automatically redirected to the MergeUp Template Lightning record page, where your newly created template is ready for further configuration.
