Overview

MergeUp Batches offer a streamlined way to merge documents for multiple or even hundreds of records at once. MergeUp Batches simplify the process of generating documents accurately and efficiently at scale.

Purpose

A MergeUp Batch is used to automate and control document merges across many records. This eliminates the need to visit each record manually or write complex Apex code for bulk merges. Additionally, a MergeUp Batch provides a centralized location to define override options for merges and monitor progress in real time.

Key Functionalities

• Batch Types

  • Report: Run merges for all record IDs found in a specified report, leveraging the report's filtering and grouping logic.
  • Custom: Use user-defined Merge Logs as the basis for merges, offering enhanced flexibility and control.
• Centralized Options: Define batch-level settings to override template-specific options on all merges within the batch.
• Summary Delivery Controls: Each batch can independently control whether MergeUp sends a completion summary email or in-app notification by using the Send Batch Summary Emails and Send Batch Summary Notifications fields.
• Progress Monitoring: Use the MergeUp Batch record page to track the progress of ongoing batches, including pending, completed, and errored merges.

Summary Delivery Settings

By default, MergeUp enables both summary delivery channels (email and in-app notification). You can disable either channel at the batch level or the org level.

• Per-batch settings: On the MergeUp Batch record, use Send Batch Summary Emails and Send Batch Summary Notifications to decide whether that batch should participate in summary delivery for each channel.
• Org-wide defaults: In MergeUp Global Configuration, use Enable Batch Summary Emails and Enable Batch Summary Notifications to turn each delivery channel on or off for the entire org.
• How both levels work together: For each channel, summary delivery is sent only when the org-level setting is enabled and at least one batch processed in that execution has that same channel enabled.
