Overview

Bellatrix introduces sandbox-first releases, additional controls for external images, and a new PDF conversion option. Existing Templates retain their current image and PDF conversion behavior after Bellatrix is pushed to the org.

Release Schedule

• Sandbox: August 21, 2026, at 10:00 PM ET
• Production: September 4, 2026, at 10:00 PM ET

New Features

• Sandbox-first releases: MergeUp updates arrive in sandbox orgs before production so teams can test representative Templates and workflows.
• PDF conversion option: New Templates use an updated PDF conversion option designed to improve reliability, formatting, and font support.
• External image controls: Admins can restrict IMAGE commands to approved public domains and configure exceptions where needed.

Customer Impact

• Existing Templates continue using their current PDF conversion option unless an admin changes it.
• External image restrictions remain disabled for organizations that already had MergeUp before Bellatrix is pushed. Before enabling them, an admin must add the new fields to the Salesforce layouts. See Bellatrix Post-Install Steps.
• No configuration changes are required for the sandbox-first release process.

Recommended Actions

• Test representative Templates and document-generation workflows during the sandbox window.
• Before changing PDF conversion for an existing Template, compare representative output in a sandbox. See Using Additional Parameters.
• Before enabling external image restrictions, complete the Bellatrix Post-Install Steps, then identify and test the public domains used by IMAGE commands. See Configuring IMAGE URL Security Controls.
